Matt and Ace have been having problems with their overly aggressive French bulldog. This is nothing compared to my frenchie,his hair stands up he attacks my boxer almost daily,I got bit pretty bad tonight,and he also is this aggressive with people.I am at my wits end,tired of the injurys on myself and my dogs.Am looking into surrendering him.I really don’t want to kill him.He is very loving to me..but I am still shaking and it’s been over an hour since the last attack,he just goes into a fit and foams at the mouth..is there no help out there for something like this?
Hi Deborah, most Frenchies think that the world revolves around them. That’s why it is important that you as a owner need to show that you are the Alpha or the Boss. If you do not show this on a daily basis the dog will indeed get out of control and will not show any respect to other dogs around him. Your dog’s impulse control needs to be controlled and the only way to solve this is through dog training.
Now it is easier said than done but the first thing you need to have is lots of patience and be consistent.
To start it is important that your dog can react to its name. Say his name and then give him a dog treat immediately when he reacts or comes toward you. Repeat this many times. Try this in your home first and then take him outside and do the same thing.
Then i would suggest clicker training which can solve the aggressive behaviour of your Frenchie.

Marcus, my french bulldog gets even more angry at the sound of a clicker. I’m having aggression issues with my french bulldog, have tried professional training. Nothing is working.
Hi Jennifer, My advice is to take your time. Training with a clicker is a dog training method based upon the Operant Conditioning theory and it has to be done with a lot of patience. All dog breeds can be a challenge to train, with certain breeds like French Bulldogs being a little more difficult than others. However, no matter which type of dog you may own and are trying to train, you will find using a clicker as part of the training to be a huge help if you have patience and time.
