Housebreaking a puppy is a simple process but takes a lot of patience. Your Puppy needs to have a strict schedule and you have to spend some time to set up your Puppy to succeed and never let him out of your sight when you are training him.
Puppies from 10 to 12 months need to go out every half hour to an hour.
Just as you are about to go outside you can connect a command like ‘go potty!’. Do not use this command when he is sniffing in the grass because he will associate that command with sniffing around in the grass. After he is done you can reward him with a treat. Then go back inside give him his freedom and then isolate him.
When the Puppy has an accident inside the house it is important that you use an enzymatic cleaner instead of soap and water. A dogs smell is much more sensitive to ours so it will still smell the odor while we do not, making the dog continue to use the house as a bathroom.
